JOB TITLE:                          Administrative Assistant for State Reporting and Grant Writing    

TYPE OF POSITION:         Classified

REPORTS TO:                      Director of Personnel

POSITION PURPOSE:    Performs administrative data entry and Covid-19 contact tracing for the administrators in the Central Office by performing the functions described below.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.  Functions may include but are not limited to the following:

 

     1. Performs administrative assistant duties which include: responding to or resolving administrative inquires, answering               the telephone, taking messages, providing information pertaining to the school or students, filing, ordering supplies,               preparing meeting agendas, recording and distributing meeting minutes.

     2.  Prepare, analyze and share data reports for the use of teachers, administrators, students, and the school board in                  order to meet specific needs of the students, or effectiveness of instructions, and operation of the school corporation.         3.  Run correlation studies on corporation benchmark tests such as ISTEP tests to aide with, develop and refine the most              appropriate local assessments.

     4.  Become knowledgeable in the assignment and uses of Student Test Numbers (STN’s) as well as School Personnel                    Numbers (SPN’s).

     5.  Coordinate and be responsible for timely filing of school and corporation reports to the appropriate Federal or IDOE                sites.

     6.  Provide technical data analysis reports to various departments such as special education to help in developing group              and individual plans to meet specific needs of the students, or effectiveness of operation and instruction.

     7.  Work with the Assistant Superintendent to submit the High Ability and Title Grant each year which includes:

                 a.  Writing the grant

                 b.  Overseeing the implementation of the goals and requirements of the grant.

                 c.  Making sure the budget of the grant is spent appropriately by approving all requisitions for the purchase of                            materials and conference requests from the grant.

                 d.  Submitting the final report and budget pages as required.

      8.  Communicate, attend and assist with curricula or services.

      9.  Coordinate, and assist Title Programs including: instructional programming, program finances, and student                             placement.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

      1.  One year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

      2.  High School diploma.

      3.  Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing, etc.) with a variety of audiences.

      4.  Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

      5.  Ability to plan and organize, good work habits.

      6.  Ability to type accurately at a minimum speed of 50 words per minute. Employee should also be able to use the                     machines, tools, equipment, and work aids which may be representative, but not all inclusive, of that commonly                     associated the type of work, i.e., calculator, forms, ledgers, schedules, and computers. 

      7.  Positive professional demeanor.

      8.  Ability to work independently.

      9.  Must possess prerequisite computer skills and be proficient in Google Office, and Microsoft Office Suite or related                   software.

     10. Other qualifications as deemed desirable by the School Board of Trustees.
